Minor nit:

asymptotically more efficient ..."

I would actually argue that the theoretical side of this argument is more of a
folk myth than the practical one.  See
ftp://parcftp.xerox.com/pub/gc/complexity.html.  (You can see I've had this
argument before.)  It does often do well as a youngest generation collector in
practice.  You have to adopt some pretty contrived definitions to make the
argument about asymptotic complexity stick.
