Level 2 only, although Level 1 implementations are free to provide
it. Almost all PostScript jobs (even very large ones) do not require
GC, as the save/restore mechanism present in Level 1 is sufficient.

"Images" (i.e. bitmaps, &c) are not defined to live in "Virtual
Memory" (i.e. the PostScript heap).
