Hello there, I am CJ, long-time workstation and music tech tinkerer.
Lately I had re-discovered Brad Parker's ports of the Genera VM and have
been checking it out on MacOS 10.6.8. It's kind of a tease because I
feel like I almost have it working.

I can start Genera from either the Snap3 or Snap4 vlod files, but in
either case I can't get past the date prompt. What I have read in
skimming through the many Symbolics manuals out there is that the system
takes a date/time code of: mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss. I have tried dozens of
variations on this. Using the real date, as well as retro-dating it to
the 1990s. I have tried using either two or four digit years. I have
tried doing it without the time of day. According to the XL1200 manual
one can even specify "NONE" and still boot. But everything I type gets
me errors such as:

"Error: Unable to set calendar clock.

TIME:SET-CALENDAR-CLOCK
       Arg 0 (TIME:NEW-TIME) :  3026437200
s-A,  <Abort>:  Exit process Initialize Genera"

While in the Terminal window I launched it from, I get the error:

"arithmeticexception; file stub/output10 line 211"

Can any of you more experienced Genera cats perhaps suggest to me where
I might be going wrong? Or does the binary need to be re-compiled? Sorry
if it's a silly question but I'd be grateful for any understanding with
this.

CJ
