LMI uses a 6-pin cable to the console, 5 pins of which are carried (one has no conductor), and at least 4 of which are actually used. There’s a “brad board” between the 38-pin connector on the actual keyboard and the 6-pin cable. I can only locate 4 of those pins as terminating anywhere on the Brad Board. The thing is, I was under the impression the Lambda keyboard uses a different protocol than the CADR, but it may be an effect of the Brad Board and not the actual keyboard itself.

I don't remember there ever being more than one version of the keyboard PROM code.

Is there a speaker in the case? That would explain the other two signals beyond the 4 going to the IDC connector on the keyboard. sys:%beep just alternates one bit directly; maybe with a potentiometer.
