Actually, I'd want to specify mutability. If immutability is an option,
like in C, too many programmers will just leave everything mutable!

If things have to be specified as mutable to make them so, then programmers
will have to provide this information to the compiler, or it'll cry at them
when they try to setf things at runtime or compile time, depending on
sophistication.
