To think before to act

Well, VMs have been studied a whole lot in the history of computing.
Before to make any choice, maybe it would be good to collect information
about all the experiments that have been done with VMs.
Has anyone got URLs and bibliographical entries about VM design?
If their ain't any good VM page on the WWW already,
is anyone voluntary to publish a page about it?
I'm ready to host such a page, and/or to centralize contributed pointers
in my Tunes Review subproject...
All abstract or concrete VMs, would be welcome:
Lambda-calculus, Turing-machines, SECD machine, Pi-Calculus;
P-code, ZINC, Juice, TAOS VP, JVM;
CPU emulation techniques (ix86, m68k);
