I was commenting on garbage collecting system objects, and decided
it wasn't too practical. Garbage collection in general is a useful
tool. How often have you run across a program with a memory leak? If
it is part of your environment you might as well use it. You may be
right, though, that the kernel may not be a good place for it to be
used.
