Asm - 2-D-Arrays

Hi Everybody!!!
I've got some problems with the Asm-Screen-output: I would need to draw a
square, but it just didn't wanna 'screen out' - so somebody told me I have
to do it with a 2-D-Array and a special palette... Unfortunately I don't know
how to do them and how to handle them so it'll screen a square out...
I would be very glad if somebody could help me
