Help with SVGA in protected mode

Hello everybody,

I'm currently making my own operating system and I've made significant
progress from when I started, but there are a couple
of areas that I need help with. First of all, I want to be able to access
some of the better graphics capabilities of
my computer and I need the Extended SVGA BIOS to do this. I know that there
is a way to access this in protected mode because
I have one of the manuals. I read the instructions, but they
don't seem to work. Althoug I'm wondering if my BIOS includes them, I'm
pretty sure it does because I think I have Phoenix BIOS 4.0, revision 6.
After that, I'd also like to be able to access the Plug and Play
BIOS. So far, my OS boots, has a login prompt and switches to protected
mode with graphics VGA mode 3. It has a simple keyboard handler and can
output text to the screen. I've written all the code in assembler so far
(NASM mainly) and I'd like to keep using assembler. I'd appreciate any
help, especially assembly source as an example to go by.

Thanks,
Brian
