The Tao OS idea (see http://www8.pair.com/mnajtiv/tao.html) is an attempt
to build the Right Thing (TM) for thin-client PCs.  It should present a
pure object-oriented paradigm (see Jecel Assumpcao's Merlin project) over a
open device driver implementation.  The documentation for the idea so far
consists of one page of goals, most of which only address the shortcomings
of the really common OSes, without discussing it's relation to the
solutions within other OSes.  It should be interesting to see how these
goals change in the light of advancements in OS design of which they seem
to be unaware.
