unfortunately building ecl CVS does not work on the newest cygwin... while building, ecl_min.exe coredumps without any message. i've reported the bug, hopefully we can step ahead... or maybe just wait/try to help with the C bootstrap? yours, - 101 ps: i have some (useless) knowledge left from C++, just in case...
