There's a bit of a problem using the
http://slate.tunes.org/downloads/slate-current.tar.gz download reported
by Levi Pearson today on IRC. Understandably since this package is
semi-automatically built from CVS then it does not include generated VM
sources or images. The user then is inclined to make get-alpha to get
them. But within short order when the alpha directory is updated and it
gets out of sync with this snapshot and the user is unable to build.
For example right now there are references in the alpha vm.c/vm.h to
things that are not in the files in the slate-current download. So the
user is unable to build.
Either the user needs to be instructed that this is just a CVS snapshot
that may need to be updated from CVS to be useful or the snapshot needs
to include generated VM and image files that match.
