I am having the same problem as Shaping. Also using Visual
Studio 2005 Beta Verson 8. I'm on Win2k. I did the update as described
in the readme file. This is the detailed version of the error I'm

------ Rebuild All started: Project: windows, Configuration: Debug
Win32 ------

Deleting intermediate and output files for project 'windows',
configuration 'Debug|Win32'
Updating slatevm.h
The system cannot find the file specified.
Project : error PRJ0019: A tool returned an error code from "Updating
Build log was saved at "file://c:\Documents and Settings\Bill Kuo-Shin
windows - 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)

========== Rebuild All: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped ==========

I did a search for slatevm.h on my computer and found nothing. Is the
file missing from the distribution? Or am I missing something?

BTW, I'm new to Slate, and to programming in general. My only "real
world" experience is in VB6 and a bit of PICK/Basic from work. As a
hobby, I'm playing around with Java, Ruby, Smalltalk, and Python.
Currently I'm doing a little browing around on functional programming
as well.

I'm still searching for the "right" programming language for me,
something that flows with how I think and is easy to manage (both in
terms of code construction). But generally I still consider myself a
newbie (there's just so much to learn out there!), so please forgive me
if I happen to ask some really dumb questions.
