In comp.os.research, we had been told about the ANDF technology for a portable, stack-based (me thinks), low-level language as intermediate code for optimizing compilers (using the backend from GCC). I'll put all that at our usual site (frmap711.mathp7.jussieu.fr) tomorrow.
