[gclist] Good Java system for GC

We'd like to do some research in GC for Java and we are currently
looking for a Java system to use. There seem to be many out there such
as Kaffe, Toba, even JDK can be licensed for non-commercial purposes. 
Ideally, we are looking for a system that already has a collector such
as BDW and is robust enough to be able to run some elaborate tests on
it. Does anyone have experience with garbage collection in any of these
systems?
