I'm a naval architect by training, a computer programmer by current
occupation. I got about a month's hands-on experience with some
Symbolics 3640 -machines back in 86 - 87. 
As my current employer decided to move from CL to Java about a year ago,
I had to do something to retain my sanity and acquired a Symbolics 3620.
- Haven't had time yet to do more than try to learn to use it, while
trying to get it to co-exist with my Linux machine as a file server.
