Hi Alfred,
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but no luck. The screen looks as if
there is no power to it. Someone told me that there is a gate that checks
that everything in the console is working before it powers up.

I have a Symbolics 3630. When I power up the run light turns on,
the fault light turns off, the disks spin up and I can hear the
heads seeking. It seems as though the box is OK. But I can't tell
because the console screen doesn't display.
Did you try to just brighten the screen? LOCAL B (hold down LOCAL while
pressing B)
