Hi Chris,

I will be trying Quicklisp next. I’ll let you know how that goes.

Since you’re trying to get ASDF working, will you next be trying to get Quicklisp working?

I recently tried to get Quicklisp working in Macintosh Common Lisp (both 3.4 on 68040 and 5.1 on PowerPC) and ran into an issue in bootstrapping. Specifically, it looks like Quicklisp’s mini tar isn’t fully translating tar pathnames into local pathnames: https://github.com/quicklisp/quicklisp-bootstrap/issues/17

This probably works on most implementations because they take an "All The World Is Unix” approach, but doesn’t work on the classic Macintosh and I expect it won’t work on Genera (or TI Explorer) — unless maybe your installation target happens to be on an NFS mount.
