Building Slate 0.3.2 for Windows XP

I installed Slate 0.3.2 and built the windows project in the .sln, using Visual 
Studio 2005 Beta Verson 8.  The project did not build.  The error was:  PRJ0019: 
A tool returned an error code from "Updating slatevm.h"
