Hello Brian,
If I were you I would also make this statement very clear on Slate's web site
and instead of releases fill the news with your progress, particularly new
features and big enhancements.
Most of us when we look at a project the first thing we notice is if there
wasn't a release recently and not having one is a bad sign (there are
thousands of hopelessly dead projects out there).
Just my two cents.

My problem was that I couldn't find anything easy enough to do in Slate for my
newbiness at that time, so, stopping releases and moving faster my actually
be the right thing to do, even for us, dormant slate users :)
