...which indicates that inlining (whether compiled to binary or no)  
would have the most wide-spread benefit on the system. Again, it's  
okay for us to migrate away from the current VM design if it makes  
that kind of optimization easier; the bytecode/method format we have  
is kind of arbitrary and not set in stone.
