For whom might care: Be Incorporated, the society 
which produced the famous BeOS, has sold all its 
assets and its intellectual property to Palm and is being 
dissolved. Their site now reports only financial 
information, with the operating system and all the 
resources unavailable,  and a indicative black ribbon 
on the Be logo. Somehow paradigmatic of how a 
good software project can be hindered by its 
proprietary nature - think at all the people who wrote 
software for that os, or that just used it.
