Well, it had to happen sometime. We need the space that has been our
Symbolics farm for the last decade or so. I've been told to tag the
machines to sell (to scrap metal dealers), to surplus (a little more
time to sell), or to save.
I will probably be tagging 20 or so machines to go away. I don't think
the scrap dealers really need the cards.
I don't think I can get SRI to pay for shipping but if you want/need
something, please let me know ASAP. These may be outta here almost
immediately.
The Symbolics 3600 with serial number 102 is probably one of those that we
are keeping. We have other low-number serial numbers (this is from a db,
before I decide what goes and what doesn't)
3600+IFU+PEvideo: 112, 134, 135, 145, 153, 168, 174, 184, 275, 382, 451,
456, 479, 481, 508, 538, 541
3675: 2234, 2332, 2334, 4300,
3645: 10017, 10018, 10034, 10169, 10313, 10316, 10317, 10318
I have some non-PEvideo video boards for 3600s.
Most of these machines have been scavanged for parts so I really don't know
what is good or not. I supposed I could try to fire some up but I won't
spend much time trying to get them to work. The disks have been the
most problematic parts.
(Many of these machines pre-date our early Sun-1's which all went to a
Sunnyvale land fill ages ago.)
Also going is a Vax 750 and 780.
Hmmm... I'm going to have to grab some s/n plates or something.
(Feel free to forward (but hurry!) to old Symbolics people.)
