Okay -- I went and reviewed the indexes, and for now, I'm going
to go with "various flavors of LISP including but not limited to
Scheme are viable options until a functioning implementation
proves otherwise."  as being the closest the list ever got to a
real consensus.  :-)

Anybody got any Symbolics language manuals, or know where I can
lay my hands on some?  It seems to be the most recent working
example of a LISP as an operating system language, and insofar
as I can do it without trammelling their copyrights and patents,
I'd like to peruse it for good ideas about OS-interface.
